What is different between the support you offer and what you can get from a book?
The support options available in a book follow one set standardised solution, this is great if you have a baby or child that fits within these set categories, however, for most people this is not the case. The one-to-one support you will gain from sleepy steps will be tailored to the wants and needs of you and your little one.
Does your sleep approach involve any crying?
I am not normally inclined to use a support method that involves crying it out, there are other, much gentler methods that can be used to support your little ones sleep.
I can not guarantee that there will be no crying involved. Crying may be a part of this process at some point due to tiredness or slight changes in routine. Although the methods used will be as gentle as possible.
When is the best time to start sleep training?
There is no set time, the perfect time is when YOU as the parent or carer are ready to make this change. All parties need to be on board and work together confidently with the plan.
There are times when we would not suggest implementing changes such as when they are teething, life changes such as moving house or welcoming a sibling or during periods of illness.
What makes sleepy steps different?
Not only am I a qualified sleep consultant, I am also a degree qualified Early years professional with over 21 years experience in the Early years sector, more recently as an Early years apprenticeship tutor. I have all the skills and knowledge to support the sleep elements, child development questions and am a qualified tutor so know how to develop peoples skills too.
How long will it take to see results once implementing the sleep plan?
Every child will be different, we tend to see a difference in the child’s sleep pattern within the first 3-4 nights, this could be slightly longer for some children. .
The most important thing that you need to do is be consistent and stick with it, you will see the changes start to happen.
We ask that you keep the sleep diary throughout the duration of the plan, this will be adapted if required. (at our discretion)
